Professional Learning in Action
My career has included various roles in higher education that expand beyond teaching as I developed an early passion for educational development and leadership. These experiences span across multiple institutions and also include roles outside of HigherEd within areas of research and governance.
*Note: My work as a Principal Consultant has included services and projects in both English/French. I also taught a course at McMaster University in French as part of a pilot which aimed to support French educators teaching in higher education.
Land Affirmation

The collective stories that have been manifested throughout my work history have taken place on various lands that were previously cared for and governed solely by Indigenous Peoples. This includes unceded territories that carried the voices of the Anishinaabeg Nation, Anishinaabe, Huron-Wendat, Rotinonhsyonni / Haudenosaunee, Mississauga Nation, and many more treaties that have been lost with time.
On my personal journey as a settler supporting truth and reconciliation, I acknowledge the unspeakable truths of colonialism that occurred within these lands and pay my respects to those who walked before us.
I promise to learn more about the history of the Indigenous Peoples, expand my teaching practice using Indigenous pedagogy and land-based education, reflect on my leadership by welcoming new lived experiences through the appreciation of Indigenous knowledge, and create more opportunities to engage in Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
